La Fédération française de football vient de changer la donne concernant les différents catégories de jeunes, et ce à compter de la saison prochaine : adieu les « poussins », minimes », « cadets », place aux U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, U19…
Certes, on « modernise » les termes (en fait, on les « anglicise » : le terme U signifiant « under », moins : moins de 9 ans, moins de 11 ans, etc…),mais la réforme pourrait avoir des conséquences plus importantes sur notre fameuse formation à la française.
En effet, la F.F.F. a supprimé pour la même occasion le fameux Championnat fédéral des 14 ans. Ce Championnat est bien connu car c’est là où s’affrontent les meilleurs de nos jeunes avant d’entrer dans les centres de formation et c’est donc là où les clubs repèrent, si ce n’est déjà fait avant, les forts potentiels.
Jusqu’à présent, l’organisation d’une compétition nationale à ce niveau permettait aux clubs, notamment ceux avec centres de formation, de s’affronter ensemble, à un niveau élevé, et de procéder à des « tests » sur une année.
Désormais, la F.F.F. entend déléguer l’organisation des compétitions des « U15 » aux Ligues régionales…
Ce qui signifie que les « 14 ans » n’auront plus l’occasion de s’affronter sur le plan national : la qualité des championnats et par conséquent la qualité de la « pré-formation » (= l’ « avant 15 ans ») pourrait donc décroître dans les années à venir..
A nos yeux, c’est un risque qui a été pris, le championnat fédéral des 14 ans représentant jusqu’à présent la premier « grand championnat », d’envergure, pour un apprenti footballeur.
Deuxième réforme, là encore plus ou moins passée inaperçue : la catégorie des « U13 » (jeunes de 11 et 12 ans) va passer du football à onze… au football à neuf… ce qui signifie concrètement que les meilleurs jeunes, qui voudront (et pourront !) intégrer un centre de formation (en principe autour de 15 ans), n’auront que 2 ou 3 ans de football à onze derrière eux ! Et deux ou trois saisons devant eux, pour « finir » leur formation (du moins jusqu’à 18 ans, et avant un éventuel contrat stagiaire). Là encore, c’est un risque qui a été pris et que dénoncent déjà certains clubs (moins de « culture tactique » à terme, etc…).
Bref, ce changement représente pour certains un réel danger.
Nous en suivrons les conséquences de façon particulièrement attentive (notamment à travers l’expérience des jeunes joueurs que nous conseillons et de celle, à l’opposé, des centres de formation avec qui nous sommes en relation).
